My name is Kurtis, student and admirer of fashion. aka you know nothing. I found your website when you advertised yourself in The Talk interview on Scott Schuman. advertised? its called brillant commenting Browsing your site for up to three pages, I see image after image of you critiquing womenswear. An ambitious theme to take on, and perhaps I am speaking from a slanted lens, most definitely but I must advocate that your blog is perpetuating the wrong culture. Blah blah blah get to the point kurtis

You, yourself, admitted in your title that "[you] [come] here with no formal training in the matter" and that somehow qualifies you still. But this isn't what concerns me Then why are you retelling He what He already knows?. What concerns me is you propagating the male gaze (something of which I hope you will research).  Kings don't research Women do not dress for you. bulsh*t Women, as it stands, are the authors of their own image. says who? By that statement I mean that we, as men, do not have the proper insight maybe you don't, or authority, to preside over them and dictate what they should and should not be wearing. Wanna Bet? The streets are not Cosmo magazine (what are you 16 yrs old reading cosmo?), they are not written by men to mold women in their ideals have you read a cosmo? its all about ways to "please your man" Fashion is about taste, yes, but it is a taste that is informed by years of experience and experimentation (of which, again, you have admitted to none). So a chick can't be fashionable without years of experience, He knows otherwise.

I challenge you to be courageous enough to understand the greater implications of your blog you gonna cry dude? and at the very least attempt to educate yourself in some history of fashion. I do not expect a reply see red text, nor will I revisit your website yes you will and hope that you've made a change for the better no changes necessary. I do hope, however, that you will take what I say into consideration. nope

Boy Kurtis do you have too much time on your hands. Cannot even remember the last time He wrote anything of that length. You have completely wasted He's time and that of the ArmHe with your babble. You are a student of fashion, kurtis, so get a notepad because schools in session. Is There a Size TOO BIG for a Bikini?

Hey He,

as I was browsing the web i came upon bikinis for plus sized women. I'm all for female body confidence no matter what size but I think after a certain size bikini should not be in your vocabulary when it comes to swimwear. What do you think? Here are two links. It goes from not THAT bad, to really bad.

P.S- I don't understand how the designer of the fashion line wants to empower BBWs if her clothes make them look 10x larger.

First off, Kaya, He Loves You. It is not easy to find a chick who will openly bash other chicks, especially fat chicks, so this was a breathe of fresh air. Second, this email actually made He laugh out loud, which not a lot of emails do. Third, He got gitty at a chance to google search, "fat chicks in bikinis" in hopes of finding an awesome picture for this post. But you are exactly right Kaya, there should very well be a limit before Bikinis are off limits. Many times you BBW should throw on a blanket, or a bed sheet to cover yourself, or a really big one piece. No More BBW Bikinis...sorry ladies, Kaya says so.

FashionHELP by He...Synagogue Attire?

Dear He,

What should i wear to synagogue (also applies to church)? I need something that's formal, but very modest because of the religious nature of the synagogue. Also, I'm fairly tall so short dresses are too revealing.

I want to look stylish, yet respectable, so what would you recommend?

Synagogue attire should always be modest. In Judaism there is a prohibition against 'cross-dressing' - instead of taking this the wrong way, think about it as g/d encouraging you to dress a little extra feminine and in turn modestly sexy. Think pencil skirts, and blouses or button downs or cardigans, the top doesn't really matter as long as from your knee to your waist your skirt shows off your curves and creates a beautiful silhouette that shows off while keeping you covered. When in doubt, cover knees, shoulders and clavicles (if its orthodox, cover elbows too)."and don't forget cover your toes in high pumps, 3 inches or more make the silhouette "pop".

He is not gonna disagree with much Taralyn said. But here are a few tips from He: 1 just because your in temple or church doesn't give you a reason to wear small heels. This is a great opportunity to impress some people, still go big or go home. As we all know, "the higher the heel, the hotter the girl." Pencil skirts are a great move. Since you are in a house of prayer, sometimes Ankle Cleavage is all you can show off, doesn't mean you can't still get a guys attention. Oh an one last thing, pretty sure no one under the age of 55 does this, but don't wear a f*cking hat.

He, help!!
I need a dress/skirt/top (outfit) for the party bus and club after prom! I need something short, tight, cute, not too expensive in case it gets puked on (just kidding.. kind of) Any suggestions? Of course I will be wearing the outfit with 5+ inch heels

Well first off, 5+ in heels is a winning style. Really won't matter a whole lot what else your wearing, He is pretty sure with 5+ in heels on you are going to look pretty damn good. But since He isn't a chick, He thought He would post this question so the ArmHe can give Allie some good places to go for an outfit. So please, help a fellow fashion-soldier in need.
